PILOT / Courtyard Building
  • Event Time:

This project brought together a team of 4 photographers and 3 choreographers who have proposed to explore ways to approach the technique of film photography in relation to movement, gesture and body. The project team consisted of Alina Uşurelu, Sabina Suru, Hermina Stănciulescu and Lavinia Pollak (visual artists / photographers) and Simona Deaconescu, Ioana Marchidan and Andreea Novac (choreographers / performers).

In Cluj, the Exposing Movement project will be presented in the form of an exhibition that presents visual experiences about body and movement and personal perspectives on dance, photography and the relationship between them. The exhibition includes photographs taken by Hermina Stanciulescu, Sabina Suru, Lavinia Pollak and Alina Uşurelu and a dark room where the audience, assisted by the Exposing Movement team, is invited to experience real-time black and white photography.

The book Exposing Movement, will be launched, which presents, in a user-friendly and accessible manner, technical data, explanations, personal impressions and photographic images within the work process. We want this book to bring, for experts and beginners alike, concrete information about possible ways to work with analog photography and interact with an artist in different places and situations.
